Candidate: Syd Saperstein

Syd “The Wahlnut” Saperstein is a current PCA Board member and its treasurer. He has been collecting, restoring, trading, and manufacturing pens since the 1980s. Retired as a senior vice president from Comerica Bank in 2013, he turned his longtime hobby of collecting and restoring writing instruments into the resurrection of the Wahl-Eversharp Pen Company. Syd is the long-time Wahl-Eversharp forum moderator on the Fountain Pen Network and an owner of the San Francisco International Pen Show. In 2018, Syd created the Writing Instrument Museum (The WIM) featuring an interpretive writing instrument experience in Scottsdale, Arizona, which housed his extensive pen collection. Syd continues his vintage pen sales, service, and restoration under the Pensbury Manor banner in Phoenix, Arizona, where he also produces his Pen Potions, restorative aids for fountain pens.
