Candidate: JC Saavedra

JC Saavedra is a physician in the Army who has been passionate about having a great writing experience for as long as he can remember. In December 2021, his life experienced a profound change when he found fountain pens. Like most newcomers nowadays, he began with modern pens. He fell down the vintage pens rabbit hole when he joined the Austin Pen Club in 2023. Since moving to Austin, his vintage pen collection has started and exploded. His passion for vintage pens has now also led him to restore them. His vintage collecting focuses on Parker pens with Vacumatic filling mechanisms and BHR Waterman pens with overlays. Although he has not been collecting very long, he has acquired a vast amount of knowledge. From his job in the Army, he acquired the ability to think strategically and developed outstanding interpersonal skills. Those abilities and the passion for fountain pens he brings are all skills that will serve the PCA well.
